Privacy Policy

Almanac is a product of Mijo App Labs ("we," "us"). We help parents be intentional about their child's development. We take the trust that requires seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Who this is for
Almanac is designed for parents and caregivers. It is not directed to children and has no child-facing features. Accounts are created and controlled by an adult.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and authentication details, used to sign you in and secure your account.
- Family profiles you create — a child's first name, birthdate, and the domains, milestones, and habits you choose to track. You provide this; we don't obtain it elsewhere.
- Memories you capture — notes and photos you deliberately add to milestones.
- What you write to the mentor — your messages in Chat, any photo you send there, your answers to the app's interviews, and the lines you choose to keep about your child or about yourself. You write all of it; nothing is inferred from anywhere else.
- Basic app data — settings and preferences needed to run the app.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
How we use it
- To provide the core features: the mentor's replies, your weekly journal entries, suggestions matched to your child's age, and your saved memories.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
- To communicate with you about your account when necessary.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored using our backend provider (Supabase) and is protected by access controls so that your family's records are accessible only to your account.
Who else processes it
We use three service providers. We do not sell your data to anyone, and none of these providers is an advertising network.
- Supabase — stores your account, your family's records and your photos.
- Anthropic — provides the AI model behind the mentor. When you send a message, answer an interview, or when your weekly journal entry is written, we send that provider the text you wrote and the context needed to answer it: your child's first name and age, the lines you have kept about your child, your recent conversation, your interview answers, and anything you have told the app about yourself as a parent. A photo you send in Chat is sent to the model as well, so the mentor can describe it back to you; photos you attach to a milestone are not. The provider processes this to generate the reply and does not use it to train its models.
- RevenueCat — manages your subscription. It receives your purchase history and an anonymous identifier, not your family's records. Apple processes the payment itself; we never see your card details.
Your child's first name and age reach the model because the mentor's answer is about your child. If you would rather it did not, use a nickname — the app never asks for a surname, an address, a school or a photo of anyone's face.
Retention & deletion
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account.
- Deleted profiles and memories are removed after a short retention window (currently 30 days) that guards against accidental loss, after which they are permanently deleted.
Your choices
- Edit or remove children, milestones, habits, and memories at any time.
- Contact us with any privacy request.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Information about a child in the app is entered by the parent for the parent's own use.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
